save our grassroots

protecting grassroots sport across the UK

Every year in Britain, over 100,000 games are cancelled due to flooded pitches - and Save Our Grassroots have had enough.

We’ve announced a new £100,000 matched funding pot to help grassroots clubs across the country install new natural solutions at local pitches to prevent flooding and game cancellations.

So if your club or community raises £2,000, we’ll match it with another £2,000 - helping you bring your pitch, park or playing field back to life.

Save Our Grassroots is a national movement to protect Britain’s most iconic community sports grounds and green spaces from flooding.

We’ve already gained national coverage including Match of the Day and the Daily Mail, and we’re just getting started.

We’re tapping into what makes us British: our love for the outdoors, our unbeatable team spirit, our humour, and our belief that when something’s under threat, we roll up our sleeves and save it.

The campaign offers brands meaningful, high-impact sports sponsorship and ESG partnership opportunities.

Watch the messages of support we’ve received from some of Britain’s household names:

THE PLACES WE’RE SAVING

Our parks, grassroots pitches and playing fields are the heart of our communities; they’re where we scored our first goal, met our best mates, learned to ride bikes, walked our dogs - and turned up rain or shine.

But flooding, waterlogging, and extreme weather are putting these cherished places at risk.
